In March 2024, I had the privilege of taking over Avella Hair (formerly Voila Hair) from Carole, who established a salon known for its warmth, quality and loyal community.

As we step forward, my vision is to create a space that beautifully balances tradition and innovation, where clients feel at home, valued and truly pampered.

I’m excited for the future ahead, and I am deeply grateful to continue this journey with our talented team and incredible clients.

About me

For those who don’t me know me, I am Thelma, originally from Ireland and proudly calling Melbourne my home for almost 15 years.

While you won’t see me with scissors in my hand, you’ll likely recognise my voice at the other end of the phone or hopefully my presence ensuring everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes. After a 20-year career in the corporate world, I made the bold decision to follow a new path, one centred around people, creativity and building something meaningful. What began as a leap of faith quickly became a passion.

For me, Avella is about more than beautiful hair. It’s about creating an experience. A space where clients feel genuinely cared for, and where the team feels supported, inspired and proud of the work they do. While every day in business brings its challenges, my focus remains simple: cultivate a warm, professional environment where everyone walks out feeling better than when they walked in.

And that, to me, is success.
